Men@Serenity Next Gathering: November 7, 2016 at 6:30 PM. You can RSVP through our Meetup.com page.
We are men who wish to encourage, enable and uplift men to become better men. We believe by becoming better individuals, we become better husbands, fathers and, ultimately, better members of our communities.
We bring our authentic selves to this group; we leave our knightly armor at the door knowing that what brought us this far in life will not carry us through to the second half. What we bring to the group is personal, real, and vital to our growth.
We are inclusive. We seek and highlight what we have in common rather than what differentiates us.
We are men supporting men to become better men.

After introductions, we may get around to discussing Robert Johnson’s book: “He.”
Here are a few hightlights from the book:
For a man to be truly healed he must allow something entirely different from himself to enter into his consciousness and change him.
To truly become a man the shadow personality must be struggled with, but it cannot be repressed.
…he often chooses to fight this battle on the wrong level—in other words he will fight with his wife or his environment instead of facing the battle within, which would be the only appropriate action.
…our devotion to outer things as the only reality is so strong that for most of us it requires an outer exploration or drama to fuel the inner search.
One would guess that accomplishment would be the surest protection against meaninglessness, but this is not so. It is the accomplished man who is most capable of asking unanswerable questions about his worth and the meaning of his life.
The object of life is not happiness, but to serve God or the Grail. All of the Grail quests are to serve God. If one understands this and drops his idiotic notion that the meaning of life is personal happiness, then one will find that elusive quality immediately at hand.
